Equal Chief Editors Report...

This will be our last Chief Editors report before our 40 Year Reunion.

So much has been achieved by our Classmates towards a Greater Sense of Equality, since our 30 Year Reunion, almost 10 years ago.

40 Year Reunion Advance Notice...

I (Mick Arnott) am giving our Year Group Advance Notice that at some stage (shortly ?) after our 40 Year Reunion, I would like to take a break from posting to our Scotch 82 public profiles.

Significant OSCA online communications improvements have taken place in accord with OSCA's 5 Year Strategic Plan (2019 -2024), therefore please join https://oscaconnect.com.au/ to see what our Classmates are up to, and join in with OSCA's Group Initiatives.

Pastoral Care & Support...

Speaking Up, Reconnecting with our Peers using Social Media, Listening to our Support Influencers, Making Proposals, Liking and Following OSCA's Social Media Initiatives, Witnessing the growth of online Mentoring, plus lots more covered in Great Scot, all contribute to help our Classmates give and receiving Friendship based Pastoral Care and Support.

In the light of the above thought from the Book of Luke, Chapter 12, Verse 48, please get in touch with our OSCA Chaplain, Graham Bradbeer, to explore using Social Media to help support your walk with God, and that of your Peer Group.

Whilst I am taking a break from posting, I will remain committed to supporting our Year Group, in Prayer.  Graham Bradbeer and wife Christine, fellowship at Blackburn Presbyterian Church, and are happy to help you explore our faith related relationship, within our Scotch Family.

Scotch 82 Guidelines Have Worked Well...

Every one of our Classmates who has asked for help with Reconnecting, Reconciling, and Reuniting has not been left behind!  Thank-you Classmates for being there for me and each other, and to those who have taken on Support Influencer Roles, both formal and informal.  You continue to make a big difference in the life of our Classmates!

Our Year Group can feel confident we are able to come up with win/win outcomes for all those interested in continuing to be involved in Social Media Support (be they Scotch 82 or OSCA inspired).

Would OSCA Guidelines Be Better??

Welcome to Scotch 82 Wraps 2021!!

I (MICK ARNOTT) WILL NOT LOOK TO FORM A "QUORUM" AT OUR 40 YEAR REUNION.

I (MICK ARNOTT) WILL NOT BE CALLING FOR A VOTE AT OUR 40 YEAR REUNION ON A SCOTCH 82 PROPOSAL(S).

Our Classmates have provided ongoing valuable and timely input into how we make decisions and be apart of our Scotch Family Social Media Adventure Together, and to this end, we initially adopted a facebook Proposal by Geoff Marum and Mick Arnott in 2012, which has benefited from our General House Committee experiences.

Please take a look at how our (Draft) Scotch 82 Year Group Proposal has developed to date -> https://ascotch82proposaltovoteone.blogspot.com/2021/11/towards-scotch-82-year-group-social.html

Around the time of our Reunion, the Draft will be completed to included as much of our Classmate's ideas and/or ammendments as possible.

Equal Opportunity means encouraging as many of our Year Group as possible to join in with as many of OSCA's Online Groups, Clubs and Societies, Website Portals and Platforms, as well as giving those who want to be involved in Leadership and Management opportunities to do so.

Thank-you, You Are Appreciated!!

Get Involved By Giving Back - Mentoring

Our Scotch 82 Support Influencers has spent a lot of time giving of themselves to hear our stories, and to be involved in our Year Group's initiatives to Support and Care for each other between 10 Year Reunions.

I believe there are many of our Classmates who have a gift or talent and potential to be great Mentors, and therefore I'd like to encourage those who are interested in making a difference to the future of Young Old Boys, or OSCA's input into Scotch College, to take a look this YouTube clip.

OSCA House is Open...

OSCA's Annual General Meeting was held virtually, again this year, due to Covid-19, with our Scotch 82 Support Influencer, Andrew Wilson performing his duties as OSCA's President.

Andrew expressed a desire to see our new OSCA House (within the new Tolson Centre) become a hub of activity, with Old Boys taking the opprotunity to visit on a regular basis (as we live with Covid).

OSCA House is on North side of "Morrison St Plaza", at what we might remember as "3 Morrison St".

Privilege and Honour...

Thank-you for the opportunity to be of service to our Year Group, and our greater Scotch Family!

During the lead up to our 40 Year Reunion, I have had the privilege and honour of meeting regularly with our Classmates online, mostly due to our Year Groups willingness to Support and Care for myself and each other, using Social Media, for almost 10 years.

It's been a truly inspiration journey to get back in contact with our Scotch Family, and reconnect with as many Classmates as possible.  I am humbled by the willingness so many of our Classmates have to open up with me about our time as Scotch Students, and as Old Boys.

Unto To Us A Child Is Born!!

Please let me pray:

"Heavenly Father, thank-you that you sent your Son Jesus Christ, who was born miraculously to the virgin Mary and Joseph in Bethlehem, and that you trusted them to receive him, as a baby.

Father, thank-you for our Scotch Family, and for the love we have for one another, inspired by the Teachings contained in your Word.

Thank-you for our Scotch College Students, Young Old Boys, and Old Boys who are all working together to combat Mental Health, and Suicide, and please give us wisdom as to how we can help to the best of our abilities.

Thank-you God for another year of life, and for the blessings our Scotch 82 Classmates have enjoyed, despite the very difficult time we've face of getting through the challenges and trials of the pandemic.

Please bring together those who have been apart, through no fault of their own, and guide our Classmates into a New Year with new hope and optimism as we look ahead to our 40 Year Reunion, and protect, by the power of your Holy Spirit and the blood of Christ, between now and then.

All the glory, honour, power and praise belongs to you God, in Jesus' name, Hallelujah! Amen"

Happy Birthday Jesus!!

God bless, with love,

Mick Arnott
